Riso Printing Purple Forest Gif

I’ve been seeing great Risograph resources on the internet and I decided to put them together here. This post may be updated as I find more resources.

  • First of all, I have to mention Stencil.wiki which is a riso wiki for artists, designers, and printers. If you are looking for Risographs near you, you can go to their Atlas and search the whole world. You would be surprised about your neighbors: Yes, your upstairs neighbor may have a risograph. On Stencil.wiki you can also learn more about different Riso models, colors and fairs (you can list the fairs you will be attending, like NYABF). And if you want to support the wiki, you can head over to issue.press to get your Stencil.Wiki Fundraising Edition 2015 pin. It’s a cute riso waiting screen squirrel. If you don’t know the meaning of this little squirrel, you should schedule a studio visit to me and see the machine working.
  • Printed Matter in NYC is obviously a great source to find riso printed books/zines and other publications. They also give some information about risograph’s process on their website as well as showing some examples from their store.
  • Hato Press explains the process of creating art work for Risograph printing from A to Z in such an easy way with lots of animated illustrations.
  • One of the first articles, I read about Risographs was on NothingMajor.com. They have a four part article and it got me super excited about risos. A great read:

Part 1: Rise of the machine
Part 2: The Riso in action
Part 3: Institutionalized Riso
